APPLICATIONS

Freeze-dried fruit and vegetables are widely used within the food industry.  They are commonly used as ingredients for instant soups, sauce mixes and ready-to eat meals, in breakfast cereals, cereal bars, yoghurt mixes, confectionery applications, or simply as ready-to-eats, all natural snacks.  Freeze dried products are also widely used to obtain superior coloring, flavoring or texture in prepared and processed food items.

 

Most premium culinary herbs and spices are also freeze-dried.

Freeze-drying is used to preserve food, and the resulting product is shelf-stable, light-weight and extremely easy to use and prepare.

 

Hikers, campers, mountain climbers, yachtsmen and long-distance athletes also make extensive use of freeze-dried foods because of their light weight, ease of use and superior nutritional values.
